Foot and foot/leg massager

I haven't looked all over this site, but from what I have seen I see no mention of foot massagers or foot/leg massagers. A friend drew my attention to these products and I'm wondering if anyone is using an electric foot or foot/leg massager for relief from jumpy legs or aching legs, something I experience often during the day.

  1. Hi! I use a massager for edema in the lower legs and feet. It would definitely work good for rls symptoms. Even just the distraction alone helps a lot. I found mine on Amazon and it was under $150. (I could look up the brand and model if anyone needs it.) It's good quality and wraps around even the largest legs. Hope you're doing well lately.

    1. I'm so sorry for not responding sooner. I finally got an email notification that someone replied to me. The nice thing is that I'm hardly ever on here anymore because I've finally got my legs under control after finding a sleep neurologist on rls.org (and finding out that I needed iron infusions and magnesium glycinate)

The brand is Medcursor Air Compression. It has 3 modes and you can get the full leg style too. It's still priced at about $75. including tax. I've had it now for 18 months and it's still going as strong as day one. The compression is strong if needed.
      Good luck

    2. I am thrilled you found relief, ! I hoep the infusions continue to be effective and that you are done with RLS for good. Thanks for sharing the massager information. Best of all wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Lori, I am taking Pramipexole Dihydro in the evening to help during the night and that seems to be working fairly well. I have also switched chairs that I sit in at my desk. I have a lounge chair and this desk chair that form sort of a basket shape and I wonder if that puts pressure on my hips effecting the feelings in my legs. This straight back kitchen chair seems to provide some improvement. Another thing I have undertaken is to give up caffeine. I've switched to apple or cranberry juice and I think I see somewhat of an improvement in the condition of my legs. Little quick to draw conclusions, but I keep experimenting. I'm also doing some back stretches in the morning which I hope will help. This achy, jumpy leg thing probably needs multiple approaches. No magic bullet.

    1. Those are some great strategies, . I hope you continue to see improvement. Keep us posted if you don't mind. I will be thinking about you. - Lori (Team Member)

  3. Hi . That is a good question. I have seen mentions of foot massage in posts, but I have not found an article about it. Here is an article about massage guns that might interest you though: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/living/massage-gun and here is an article about devices that can help with RLS: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/treatment/devices. I hope you get some input from the community. I am sure there are some who use foot massagers. Are you on a treatment plan for your RLS? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
