Alternative Treatment

I use Jobst "knee high" "open toe" compression socks to relieve my symptoms . When the first symptom occurs in either one or both legs, I put on my Jobst compression socks and relief occurs immediately or within 1-3 minutes.... every time. I use no medication for RLS, just the compression socks. I've been using them for the past 10 years and this is an easy solution to a frustrating problem. I hope you have the same results.

  1. This is great news! I have some questions, if you feel up for answering: Do you wear compression socks for the whole night, every night? Or is it just for a little while when you have symptoms? Did you read about the compression socks idea somewhere or was this something you came up with on your own? Each person is unique, but for some people it really does make a world of difference. I hope you continue to do well! -Melissa, team member

    1. I do wear them until morning. I first encountered them when I was hospitalized for another issue & they thought wearing them was a good idea. I brought them home and put them in my sock drawer. One night RLS started and I thought to use them for that issue. Well, they worked and they are inexpensive as I have 5 pair and have used them for the past 7-8 years. Easy solution. Work smart, not hard.

  2. Hi . Thanks for sharing what helps. How awesome that they have been effective for so long. We've had some members who have reported similar success with compression socks while others feel no effect at all. I'm guessing that's because there are so many potential causes of RLS. Different causes might mean that different treatments work. I hope someone who reads this also finds relief from them. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
