Exercise eguipment

I have seen these machines on Facebook that you pedal. Do they work with restless legs as they advertise.

  1. It depends on whether exercise helps your symptoms or not. If walking doesn't help, it's not likely a machine will, either.

    1. Hi . Leg exercise, in general, can be really good for RLS, but there is no way to know how those exercises will impact you until you try it. Here is an article about RLS and exercise that might interest you: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/living/exercise-benefits. The machines you describe, usually called pedal exercisers, work similarly to a bicycle or an eliptical, depending on which one you buy. Though there are many good ones available that might be effective for you, there are also some pretty lousy machines on the market that either offer little resistance or break easily. So it's important to do some research before you buy one. Consumer Reports usually offers objective reviews based on testing, but you can also check with physical therapists to see what they recommend. Hopefully, some members who use pedal exercises will hop in here to share their experiences and the brand of equipment they use. If you do get one, we'd love to know what you think. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
