  1. Hi . No need to ever apologize here. Feel free to post as much or as little as you like. I will respond here since this is your latest post. Forty-five years is a long time to suffer. One thing I have learned from this community is that the answer might be right around the next corner and it might be something you never considered. As you noted, what works for one person is not always effective for another. I am not a medical professional, but I suspect that is because RLS might have a variety of causes. Some people might be "wired" differently, as your doctor said. Others might have a nerve injury that is causing their RLS. Still others might suffer from a nutrional deficiency that causes RLS symptoms. For many people, medications help, but if you spend enough time reading through the archives here, you'll find others who were helped by spinal surgery for something thought to be unrelated, by supplements, by putting pressure on pain points or even by rubbing charcoal-mint toothpaste on their legs (Yes. One member figured that one out by accident.). You never know when you might find that one thing that works for you. If increasing your pramipexole made things worse, you might want to talk with your doctor about whether you are experiencing augmentation. Here is an article about it: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/augmentation. I hope this helps, even just a bit, and that you eventually find relief. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
