LYRICA🫣😖

Because my Sifrol dose for nights is at its highest .75 mg. my doctor has prescribed me low dose Lyrica to see if I can get fay time relief. this would be my new dosage;
AM. .25 mg Sifrol + Lyrica
PM. .50 mg Sifrol.
I am terrified of using Lyrica despite it being low addictive. I have heard so many bad stories, the side effects are scarey and it is one drug I have always said I would never take.
But... I don't feel that I have any other choice at this stage of my RLS journey.
I am writing to ask your advice, opinions & experiences with Lyrica please.

  1. I recently started taking Lyrica after Pramipexole caused augmentation twice. I had not heard about any nasty side effects with this medication or any bad experiences but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

    There are other Alpha-2-delta calcium channel ligands medications like gabapentin enacarbil and gabapentin. There are also dopamine drugs like Pramipexole, ropinirole, rotigotine). With dopamine drugs, you do have a risk of augmentation. https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/augmentation

    There are other side effects too that can really suck. For me, when I had to increase the dose of Pramipexole after my first augmentation, I started having impulse control issues. When I started experiencing augmentation again this summer with daytime symptoms, I knew that I would no longer be able to deal with my impulse control issues, they would get out of hand.

    Every medication has a risk of side effects, unfortunately.

    I hope you and your doctor are able to find something that works for you with minimal side effects. Please update us if you can.
