Rene’s Story

Well, let me tell you that I am now 70 years old and have suffered four heart attacks so far. I have up to 13 stents installed in the arteries leading to my heart. I am 5 ft 8 in and weigh 190 pounds.
I feel great except for the RLS that has been annoying me for at least the last 30 years.
My doctor prescribed me Pramipexole, a .25 mg dose. I take two of these an hour before bedtime. They work most of the time.
I noticed that if I drink Coke (mixed with rum, no more than two glasses) I stay awake and my legs are twitching a lot. Also chicken plays the same on me.
I tried one gentleman’s suggestion of having a bowl of cornflakes and it worked great last night. I sleet like a baby and my legs were calm.
But deep down, I think my issues with RLS are caused by all the medication I take for my heart.
I do hope that I can find a solution soon as this is really depriving me of many good nights' sleep. Thank you.

  1. Hello,

First of all i am very sad to hear about how health has had such an impact on your life.

I feel like i am on the path for something similar, at such a young age (i am in my 20s) this neurological disorders and insomnia are not only making it hard for me to function during the day, but they are preventing me from having a normal and productive life.

I am about to see a neurologist in a few days, i only hope it will be worth it.

Sincere regards and a wish for good health.
