24 Plus hours of RLS Episodes

What is the longest any of you have suffered an RLS episode at one time? My longest has been 28 hours. The last 6 weeks have been beyond horrendous for me. 4-5 nights out of each week my legs have been restless…restless is putting it mildly. These episodes have lasted no less than 16 hours at time and up to 28. I can’t lay down or sit for more than 5 minutes. I almost had my husband take me to the hospital. Multiple nights of not sleeping and not even resting is the worst thing I’ve ever gone through. Anxiety and depression is taking its toll on me. It’s lonely being up at night. There is no stopping the tears that fall from my eyes. I just want it to stop. My husband and my elderly Mom(she lives with us) see what I go through. But they don’t know that feeling we get in our legs/arms. No one knows and it’s very difficult to explain. I just started a new medication for me. It’s called Gralise and it a 24 hour time release medication. I pray it works. I’ve just about exhausted all medications. My heart goes out to all of you who suffer through this. I do know what you’re going through. I do know what it feels like. Thank you for letting me share what I’ve been experiencing.

  1. Thank you Lori. I appreciate your kind words.

    1. My heart goes out to you, . That is a long time to suffer. Please don't hestitate to go to the ER if it ever happens again. The physical and psychological of sleep deprevation can be serious and sometimes life-threatening. You need sleep and you need relief even if it's just for one night. I hope Gralise is effective for you and that others respond here in answer to your question. We have had members report going days at a time with episodes. It is heartbreaking when that happens. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
