Advice?

I am new here but have already found many tips. I am trying to learn how to use this site efficiently but at 74 I am somewhat technology challenged so advice is welcome both about RLS and using this site. I have already provided some information about my struggle with RLS. The replies and suggestions are much appreciated. One thing occurred to me as I read several stories and replies. It is easy to forget what kinds of things might be triggers and what is worth trying because our reactions and symptoms change. I am learning new things from everyone but also reading things I had not thought of for a long time. Currently I am considering a foot/leg pedal or motion machine. I think it might be a way to occupy my time while I wait for relief. I don't want to make things worse but it is maddening to have to walk or look for distractions while each episode is taking place. Has anyone else tried any of the products that do not require a prescription? Thanks for your support, Lori, and to others for sharing your stories which have been very helpful to me.

  1. Thanks, Lori! I did order one from Amazon which should arrive early next week. I had been using a treadmill during the winter to walk. I love working outside so I put it away in the Spring because it is rather large. When my RLS worsened, I started looking for help and actually saw an add on TV for a senior sitting leg exerciser. After your reply, I was able to find an exerciser that can be used sitting or standing and not too expensive. I am expecting it to be delivered early next week. I will keep you posted on how I respond to it.

    1. That's wonderful, . I hope it helps. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. I am so glad to hear that you have found the community helpful, . It warms my heart. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime via private message if you are having issues navigating the community. I will get back to you as quickly as I can. A small exercise device that you can keep in the house sounds like a great idea. It certainly can't hurt. There are so many devices that might be effective for you. If you search Google or Amazon for "leg exerciser while sitting for seniors," you will come up with some relatively affordable options (along with some expensive ones, too!). I hope others chime in here to share their experiences. I would love to hear more if you decide to go ahead with it. Many people say exercise and movement helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
