Relax

Is there any relief for restless legs

  1. I was diagnosed with RLS 30 years ago and was taking Oxycontin for it for 25 years. Everything was great till the opioid crisis hit and I was taken off the oxycontin and it was replaced with nothing. I would love to sue whomever decided it was a good idea to take away everyones pain medication.
After almost committing suicide I was told to see a psychiatrist. It took nearly four years to get to the psychiatrist but it was helpful
The doctor prescribed buprenorphine-naloxone 2Mg and this has stopped my knee pain.

I suggest everyone look into this.
Also look into "Toilet Knees" and read up on it if you have been diagnosed with RLS. I think I was misdiagnosed for 25 years but the lazy doctors don't seem to want to diagnose everyone correctly, it is easier to lump everyone under RLS.

    1. I'm sorry you were affected so horribly by the opioid crisis and difficulty getting mental health care. While I like to think the intentions were good at the time, all kinds of people with chronic illness are still struggling to find proper care and pain relief. I'm so glad you are getting relief at last. Thanks, too, for sharing about toilet knees -- this is a new one for me and it might be the answer someone else is seeking. Take care and glad you are here with us! -Melissa, team member

  2. Hi and welcome to the community! Here is an article about RLS treatment that might interest you: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/treatment. Unfortunately, what helps one person does not always help another, so you might have to endure some trial and error before finding treatment that is effective for you. Were you recently diagnosed? Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
