RLS and Parkinson's.

I have Rls and Parkinson's disease.
I have been taking Rotigotine with some success. The leg twitches and unwanted movement have all but gone. But it has left me with more leg pain than prior to taking Rotigotine.

Has anybody had the same and you had are the suggestions for pain management

  1. I've got my pd nurse on the case.. but I've tried gabapentine. Pregabolin and ropimorole. All with the same results. I wondered about codeine

    Thanks

    1. I hope the nurse comes up with some better options for you, . Are you aware that we have a sister community for people with Parkinson's disease, ParkinsonsDisease.net? You might want to post this same question there since RLS is a common comorbidity with Parkinson's disease. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. That must be a frustrating combination, . Is the leg pain frequent or only at night? Is pregabelin an option for you or gabapentin? Both treat nerve pain. Might it be helpful to switch from rotigotine to pramipexole or ropinirole? Some people react differently to different dopamine agonists. It might worth talking to your doctor about different prescription options or combinations of medications that address both the movement and the pain. Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
