Assistance with medication or treatments

I have recently been prescribed Horizant for my severe rls. My insurance has denied and I am wondering if there is anyone who has received assistance in affording the medication. It’s the only thing that has worked and now I find it is almost $500 a month. My ssi is only 1,300 month sooooo I won’t be able to fill - what have others done? There are a few companies that will help with costs but they all say not if your on Medicare or other government insurance. Thoughts?

  1. I had the same problem. Try a company called TRUAX. They send it in 90 day supplies for $165.

    1. wow that would be amazing. I will look into this tomorrow. So kind of you to respond. Thanks much!

  2. Hi . How very frustrating. No one should ever have to go without medicines they need because they can't afford it, especially in the United States. It's shameful. Have you talked with the insurance company or asked your doctor to communicate with them to find out why you were denied? Often, it is something as simply as a wrong code submitted by the doctor's office. You could also contact the PAN Foundation to see whether they can help. Here is a link: https://www.panfoundation.org/. I hope this helps. Wishing you the very best. - Lori (Team Member)
