RLS, Fibromyalgia and Hashimoto’s

Hi,
My name is Lidia and I am 58 years old . I have been battling RLS since I was 19 years old and now the pain is unbearable.

At the age of 33 I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and 12 years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia . Between those I am wreck .
Insomnia due to pain is my biggest issue and many of the treatments had very unpleasant side effects.
Is there anyone else who has it? Any advice?

  1. My heart goes out to you, . It can be impossible to sleep when you are in pain. Unfortunately, you are not alone. It is a common problem for people with uncontrolled RLS. Here is an article from one of our advocates about her battle with RLS and insomnia: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/living/treatment-success. I hope you hear from other members as well. Have you tried any alternative or complimentary treatments for your RLS pain? Here is an article about devices that might help: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/treatment/devices and here is another article about lifestyle and home remedies: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/lifestyle-changes. Thinking of you and sending lots of gentle hugs your way. - Lori (Team Member)
