Mounjaro and Restless Legs

My RLS was brought under control 31 months ago by a combination of an iron infusion and Gabapentin. 8 days ago I gave myself my first injection with Mounjaro, the weight loss drug, and my RLS has returned as bad as ever, with me being unable to get to sleep until about 3 am. On 2 nights it's been worse, and I resorted to a large helping of brandy!)
Has anybody here experienced the same thing, and did it pass?

  1. Since RLS-related symptoms aren't listed as a possible side effect, I would encourage you to make a report with the FDA's MedWatch program if you live in the US. It's a good way for the medication companies to keep track of how people are responding to their medications in "the real world" and can help influence what happens with these drugs in the future, including better labeling.

Making a report is pretty simple:

No pressure. Just wanted to make you aware of this option. Please keep us posted about how you're doing and if you decide to make any changes! The GLP-1 medications are still pretty new, so we all appreciate hearing about experiences people have. -Melissa, team member

    1. Hi . Though I don't see it listed under the side effects, many people with RLS have reported worsening symptoms with Mounjaro. Have you talked to your doctor about your symptoms? Maybe you can try a different medication. Please keep us posted. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

      1. PS - I am still taking 400g of Gabapentin, and magnesium tablets every night
