Hi guys I'm new to this forum

Does anyone know of any clinics that deal with ils and sleep disturbance please? I'm in cheshire England

  1. I've had RLS for 10 years and has got progressively worse. It has been diagnosed and I am on meds butis relentless and debilitating. 😪

    1. You must be frustrated and exhausted. While you search for a doctor, please feel free to read through the forums and the comments on other articles to see what has helped others. Sometimes, the strangest things end up providing relief. One person found that spreading charcoal/mint toothpaste on her legs stopped her symptoms. Another found that putting pressure on pain points brought relief. Just recently, a member who had suffered for years tried using a massage gun on her legs and finally got a good night's sleep. The cause of RLS is unknown and it's possible there are many different causes, so it makes sense that their might be many, vastly different, effective treatments. Here is a general article about treatments that might help you better advocate for yourself when you do find a new doctor: https://restlesslegssyndrome.sleep-disorders.net/treatment. Please keep us posted. I'l be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. Are there sleep doctors on the NHS, Elaine? I am here in the US so I'm not as familiar with the system, maybe you can talk to your GP about a referral to a sleep doctor.

There is the Sleep Apnoea Trust in the UK ... while clearly their focus is on sleep apnea, RLS is also a sleep disorder and I wonder if they could either help you or point you in the right direction of someone who can. Start with a phone call.

Here's their website, looks like there's a location in Cheshire:

Just so you know, we don't have any personal connections to these clinics so I'm not sure if they are good, but it's certainly worth a try!

Best of luck to you. -Melissa, team member

  2. Hi . I wish we had some resources for you. We do have other members from England here. Hopefully, they will chime in. How long have you been experiencing symptoms? Do you suspect restless legs syndrome? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
