Restless Legs Syndrome

I have had RLS for over 50 years
My mother was diagnosed with RLS a few years before she died.
My doctor for a long time wouldn't discuss my RLS
I had an appointment with another doctor in the practice He prescribed Pramipexole taking two tablets of 88gm per tablet before bed
This has helped me slightly but I still have RLS every night and it gets worse when the weather becomes humid
I had a quarter of my bowel removed in 2023 and the anaesthetic made my RLS much worse
I am 78 years of age and I sympathise with anyone who suffers from RLS
Kind 😇 regards
William Henry

    1. Thank you very much for your message
I have been sleeping slightly better recently. My smart watch records, my sleep keeps a score and a running total, of the hours I sleep
However, my RLS gets much worse when it is cloudy and humid 😅. A few days ago, my RLS was terrible. I was in despair and just about got through the day.
Thank you very much for all the support Charities and organisations give to help people with mental and physical health issues.
      Kind regards,
      William Henry

    2. Hi William. I'm not sure about the cloudiness affecting your RLS -- do you think it might be related to circadian rhythm (sleep cycles)? As for the humidity, I wonder if it would make a difference to have a dehumidifier running in your home, particularly in your bedroom. Have you tried that? Wishing the best for you and glad you are here with us. -Melissa, team member
