Medication finally approved for RLS

RLS No More

  1. Buprenorphine has been approved for RLS. I invite you to watch all the UTUBE videos explaining how and why it's a game changer dealing with RLS for all the debilitating years people have been truly suffering. Now we have to get our doctors onboard and push them to get educated on how exactly it is prescribed and how we can reclaim normalcy in our lives after horrific suffering every night with RLS. Most doctors are not willing to prescribe Buprenorphine for RLS because of the stigma behind this drug. That just tells me they haven't studied the years of research and trials that have proven excellent results in patients with RLS that have gone through so many agonizing nights. It's time put the suffering behind us and have our doctors step up to the plate and finally help us take back our lives. We deserve it!

    1. It is surprising that buprenorphine isn't used more often, at in the most severe cases. I'm guessing some of that reluctance comes from the fact that, althought it is a synthetic opioid, it's still an opioid. That can make some doctors nervous, especially with patients who have never taken an opioid or who have histories of any kind of addiction. It might not be the solution for everyone, but I would think doctors would consider it for those with severe RLS who can find no other relief. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
